Mr Bernard Lloyd-Jones

I was born in 1942. I began working at the BBC in 1966, my final year at the BBC was 1992. Whilst at the BBC I was known as Bernie.

How I joined the BBC

Answered advertisement in Guardian newspaper for BBC Wales Design Department, then was asked to take up appointment with BBC Design Department at Television Centre London

My first impressions of the BBC

I was most impressed with the BBC and all it stood for, in the vast range of of all its output and diversity of programs. It was a magic moment being shown the working studios at TVC by Cliff Hatts Head of Design it had me hooked.

Broad BBC career

Joined the Scenic Design Dept as a Design Assistant, then as Scenic Designer working at TVC on a vast range of programs, inc Drama, Comedy, Music&Arts, Current Affairs, Light Entertainment,Series Serials then as Senior Designer in charge of Eastenders scenic design. and finally as Senior Designer at TVC.
